Coronado Speed Festival

I Love this show, where else are you going to see this many real race cars ? Real "RARE" race cars ! Ton's of SCCA race cars from every bracket, unfortunately a lot of the trans am cars were at another event somewhere, including “ALL” the AMC's....
We usually see 2 to 5 of them here. This is my 5th year here, I love it !

While Steve Dawson and I were walking around we came across this Javelin, nice to find Javelins, they are hard to find. I left a card but no contact yet. This one is half Chevy now, I think Steve was looking to see if it was still Chevy orange.

Saturdays show only has a first place trophy for each category, and first place Saturday and Sunday gets to do a lap, sometimes 2. I got to do a lap, and I left some rubber out there too !
I think the course is 1.6 miles, I don't remember. The pace car keeps us slow so the farther you hold back, the more you can “Git On It” when you pass the bleachers.

Sunday I met up with Steve again and Richard also made it, so it was between Steve and Richard for a lap, but trophy time came and Steve won....they did not call a second place....so I asked why, the lady that signed Richard up put him into the pony car category, so I told them we had two cars in contention and they gave Richard second place.

So we don't know who won, except Steve got to go on the course ! And Hot Rod Holly wanted to go with whoever won, couldn't say no.

Another Javelin spotted on Sunday, still no owner....do Javelins have owners ? Never can find then either.

So all three of us who went this year got trophys !
Makes me feel a little better about going through a tank of gas Saturday with 2 laps involved in the day.

One of John's favorites is the Pantera, so he missed the Bakers Dozen that showed up.

One of My favorites is the Cobra, not the GT, but the AC ! And there were a few REAL ones here too !

I could take hundreds of pix, but I don't have the room here, so here are a few awesome cars out of hundreds.

How could I not do this one too, how rare is this ?
