Las Vegas AMC Reunion
November 3, 2012
Henderson, Nevada. SOUTHERN NEVADA AMC CLUB
These guys have a great show ! I've been here the last four years, and will continue forever !
Smaller show this year with about 37 cars, around 60 last year, but a lot of us did the Spark's show & it was expensive....although less then half of what Colorado will cost in August of 2013.
But, Ya gotta do, what ya gotta do !
This year Friday had a riverboat ride to the Dam. You could see all these fish, and a few ducks, around the ramp to the dock to the boat, both sides ! Some of theses guys were HUGE ! I thought they might eat the ducks.
Not a big group of AMC'ers on this trip, but Dave & Kati and Cindy & I got a good spot on the upper deck for the cruise. It took a few hours out of the day & it was a nice clear pleasant trip
The four of us cruised to a museum afterwards, then headed to the Friday eve Pic Nic. This is a perc the Club does every year, you only have to bring beer, if you want it.
You can see 5 of our cars in this pix.
It's pretty cool seeing a bunch a AMC's in a park setting, unfortunately I couldn't get a good shot of the whole place....Too many park thingy's in the way !
Glad I didn't bring Kermit, looks like you have to trailer BBG's in this park !
Here's where we mostly hung out during the show, next to Dave's and Mark's AMX's. The rest of the day was for checking out the cars.
Modified AMX & Factory Performance Class's were right next to each other, so Steve's SC/Rambler, my Machine, Allen's RWB AMX, & John's Blue Beauty got to park in a row. And there they are by the cars !
Dale was a row over and all by his lonesome, well....his car was !
Funny thing happened on the way to the coliseum...actually it happened at the show, early Saturday morning, after I moved my car to the show area, Steve hoped in and while we were talking, it sounded like a gunshot CLOSE by. Then the parking lot lights began to flicker & went out, Steve & I looked at each other (to see if we were bleeding) and figured it must have been a transformer....it was !
We heard fire engines & ambulances for at least an hour, I don't know how many showed up, they were everywhere....Good thing the show is in the upper lot !
The power was out till after 3pm. We didn't get charged for Saturday....Cool !
Galvin was there, fortunately he's at all the Western shows, we need him.
There were a few other vendors here too, Allen kept going to one of them throughout the day, John said he came back with parts every time, like a blood hound !
But I think I found a Getaway car !
Allen got Best of Show, that's four that I know of ! A rotisserie restored 68 AMX in RWB can't miss.
They had the raffle during the show, then the awards in the banquet room as planned, after the power came back on, GOOD, I needed a drink....or twothree....
Dale, Randy, Dave, Allen, John, & Mark, 7 trophy's for 6 cars ! NICE !
We had 7 cars at this show, it's about a 6 hour trip, and we usually travel together, but we all had diferrent things going on, but we all ended up here eventually. Richard showed up too, but not in his AMC, so 7 AMC's & a van.
Here is the Winner shot ! I don't know all these people....but I can show them 2 U !
See you in Vegas next year !
