Wounded Warrior Cruiz
September 22, 2012
I got a call from Country Gents, they needed cars to take 50 Marines from Camp Pendleton on a Cruiz & to Lunch. It was short notice, so only Steve & I were able to help out. It was an Honor.
We had 35 to 40 cars on a looong windy 1 ½ hour cruiz ! It was cool. Some of the Marines traded cars at the half way point where we took a rest break, so I got to know 2 of them, how they were wounded on tour, where they are from, how they will cope with their injuries, and how HOPEFULLY our Country will help them heal from it.
We had lunch at a BBQ joint somewhere....I don't know where....I was just following and listening to these kids storys, kids....they are battle hardened, wounded in action thousands of miles from real civilization....kids....they asked for nothing, they enjoyed the break from reality of wearing a uniform and their duties. Some are nearing another tour & some are being released for injuries from their last tour....My heart goes out to them all.
Got a little carried away....
Where we had lunch, they had a few funny cars trying to blow out windows near by. It took me 10 plus shots to get both sides of flames on a pix, it was worth it.
God bless our Warriors.
