Remember the "sign of the cat" commercials back in the 1960s-70s?  Well, the cat is alive and well and showed up yesterday at the Socal Cougar Club and Mercurys car show event yesterday.  Due to the "gas crisis" and the economy only 29 cars appeared at Pearson Park, located in Anaheim.  This club is unique in that instead of practicing "exclusivity" (keeping other marquees at bay and away from the show), they practice "inclusiveness," meaning they enjoy many car makes/models, like Mercs, Comets, Galaxies, Edsels, Panteras, AMCs, and Triumphs. among others, showing up.  Aside from a lunch issue (eventually an old-fashioned roach coach showed up to feed everyone), everyone had a good time.

The park was idyllic and featured a pond, ducks, geese, and lots of grass to park on.  Some enthusiasts even brought their shelties for a nice day in the shade.  Since my car was the only AMC there, by default I received a trophy.  I thought there were other trophy whores out there, but apparently I'm the only one!  The show began at 8:00 am  and ended at 2:00 pm, earlier than expected.

We will have to bring more AMC's next Year !

I went last year, missed it this year because the weather was iffy....I'll try again next year.
So Steve carried the banner, and Yes, Steve got a trophy !
