Burger Run 2012

WoW ! We had 13 Cars at this Show ! Not too shabby for a bunch of old AMC'ers !
This show gets bigger every year, last year was 587, this year was 737. I don't know how they all fit, we didn't even get to park in our regular spot, but we all fit into a small bank parking lot.

A lot of people enjoyed our cars, John S's. Car was the first AMX in line & I would hear someone say “Look, it's an AMX” ! (then) “Look, Another one” ! (then) “Look, there's a whole bunch” ! WOW !

I met John S. (Blue 69AMX) & Allen (RW&B 68AMX) at the bottom of my hill with my BBG 70AMX, at the freeway, as we were pulling out, a BBG 70 Javelin came around the corner to fall in with us, it was Jon ! So the 4 of us headed to Vista.

We got to McDonalds about 6:40am, Mark (Red 69AMX), John C. (Green 68AMX), Steve (SC/Rambler), & a buddy of Steve's with his Porsche were already there, so we chowed down.
Then Dale & Carroll showed up (2 red 70Javelins). When it was about time to leave, we met Rich (blue 68AMX), Robert (blue 70AMX), & Dom (Plum73AMX) in the parking lot, just in time to head to the show !

Big line going into this show, it took awhile to get our 12 cars through the gate, so I went ahead & grabbed us a spot we could fit in, just in time too, the lot was filling before we all got parked. But before we filled up the area, Tom showed up, I asked him where he parked, he had a good spot, but I said he needed to park with the club ! So I saved him a spot till he got his BBO Javelin over to join us....& all was good, We had 13 Cars !
This is an Awesome show, the Iron here could give all 13 of us enough money to retire for the rest of our lives.

We went to the main booth to get our T shirts & Stu's car had been brought to the show, his car was also on the t shirts....I sure miss my friend....he passed away in October. We took some pix of us around his car. The final shot.

We all cruiz'd around the show, got to see a lot of car friends that I hadn't seen in a few months, most of us ended up at a burger joint for lunch & by the time we were done it was time to get back for the trophy presentation. They do it at 1pm, just enough time to see everyone & everything.

The trophys are home made & everyone wants one, but there are not many, so it's kind of an honor to get one....Allen came home with one, he recently finished a rotisserie on a 68 AMX in Red, White, & Blue, it's a BEAUTY ! The whole underside is WHITE ! That's just CrAzY !

Other then an AMC show, this is where we have our biggest group, for the last 4 years, we get 9 to 13 cars here, Nice.
We ran into Cody & his wife here, he has an early Classic Wagon that he just got painted, it looks Awesome too.

Also an early Rambler with something other then a Rambler motor, big scoop, flamed, never met the owner, but heard he wasn't into the AMC thing, just his one of many cars. Still looks cool.

C U at the next Burger Run !
