Las Vegas AMC Reunion

November 4, 2016

This show gets better every year ! It hit 70 cars this year ! Quite a few I haven't seen before too, and that's Awesome ! We were at the Hoover Dam Lodge, my first time here, and they have beds you can actually sleep on. The Friday drive was to the Phil Maloof Collection, with Beautiful cars, art, statues, organs (the musical type), and lots of Cool stuff.

We had a six car group for the trip over on Thursday, we all met up at Peggy Sue's Diner, had lunch, gassed up (again), and Cruised in together....and had a lot of thumbs up along the way !

After the "Uncle Phil" tour (I'll get pix up soon), we went to the Famous Friday BBQ the Southern Nevada AMC Club puts on, it's free, and Andy Ray sweats his ass of every year Cook'n up dogs & burgers. They moved it to a nice little park this year, but the cars were scattered mostly under parking tops, so you can't see them all from one spot....no problem !

For some reason, I'm starting off Saturday Morning with the AMX's....sure....no particular reason....Our Prez' Mark's Red 69, John's Bright Blue 69 (Trophy!), Robert's Dark Blue 70, and Richard's Aqua'ish Blue 68 (also trophied).

Tom's BEAUTIFUL 69 BBG, my little 70 BBG, Ray's flat tire'd 70 AMXerJav....sorry the stripe throws me off....even though it looks Bad Ass ! and Greg's Bone Stock Red 68 (for sale or trade for a 71 to 74 at this posting).

If it's Stock that you like, this 69 BBO is just about perfect ! hell, it may be, I'm too crippled up to go over it with a fine tooth comb ! It was so Cool, I forgot to get the info on the owner (sorry), Joe's very pretty Blue 69, Dennis's Clean White 68, reads only 58,000 miles ! and Dave's 69 Aqua, another Cool color.

O.K.....I'm partial towards Red, White, & Blue, so I got it with Old Glory, from the end of the row, and who doesn't think (or dream) of dual quads ! If Allen had been able to bring his, this might have been his frame as well ! Bob did a great job on this 69 !

It's kind of a filler, but I love getting shots with the Flags. Stan "The Marlin Man" brings this flag setup to all the shows, and I thank him for it. I had my AMC flag in my room window, with a good view of the show. And a shot with Flags "And" the Helicopter taking off.

All these from one Club is that Cool, or what ! from up North, and I'm Happy to see them every time, great people ! Mario's SC/Rambler was saved form a crusher ! Jim's Awesome 69 BBO Rogue (people's choice!), Jim's Crazy Badass 69 with a 401 that won't stay under the hood, And Jeff's 300 horse 6 Banger 72 Gremmy....WoW !

The Specialty Performance Class had 4 SC/Ramblers & an SC/360 ! Steve's SC trophied ! (from our Club), Of course JR's SC/360 did as well, when do you ever see these ! Mark's SC, John's SC, and the 4th one did not come out, sorry....Awesome group !

Only 3 early Javelins, but this Blue one sure is a pretty color ! It's Steve's 68, and Larry's 69, and the Black Monster 73 of Darrell's.

And 4 more Humpsters, Jace just got this 72 w/401 this year, Nice buy ! Art's 74 is pretty dam cool too, Greg's 71 Sonic looks great, and Ben just stopped by for a little lunch, car side ! in his 74 6 banger !

Pamela has a Beautiful Marlin, she's from my area, and her car pulls some trophies ! like here ! This class has 3 Beauties, Dion's Ambo is SHARP ! and then we come to Nacho's little 68 343 Rebel, it's kinda o.k.....It took Best of Show !!! Nice !

The Fire Chief (Ken) tried to shut us down, but we convinced him to stay and get a trophy instead, with his 66 Classic, Then the Highway Patrol (Brien) said we had to leave, but since we were not in California, we bought him off with a box of doughnuts ! and Bruce wanted some, so we parked his little 69 American right next to him !

We start with Stan's new 67 Marlin, looks pretty sharp ! Bill's 66 Rambler, Mike's Orange 64 Beauty, a nice 67 Clone/ish Rogue, Kelly's Sweet little 65 American, and I got a pix of this humpster late in the day, I guess they couldn't make the show till it was all but over.

Some Cities here ! Cindy's Cool little 61 American, Awesome Red 60 American (sun on card, couldn't see info), Thomas's Green 60 American, Cute little beach cruiser Wagon with no info, and Steve's Pink 60 American.

4 Gremmy's ! (5 actually) an Awesome Silver 75? with a 401! (no name), a Black with an actual Gremlin on the hood ! Maggie's Yellow 74 w/360, she won on "The Price is Right", How Cool is that ! and another little Yellow Gremmy.....and 2 Jeeps ! Sorry I don't have info on all these, the sun took out a lot of the cards, and I also had a lot of blurry pix....my fault for limping around all day.

I have No info on these, my cousin stopped by, and I only see her here, so I rushed a little....but that Blue thing up top is Mark's Hornet, looks great with the new paint ! someone said the red one is an AMX (sorry, those were made 1968-1970), and the rest are fish bowls ? No, No, they are Pacers ! That's right ! I didn't even know they made this many ! I do know the Red one is Shelby's !

again no info, but these Baby's are Awesome ! aren't they ! TWO Hudsons & TWO Metropolitans ! How Cool is That !

Dale's BBO Javelin, Sorry to loose another AMC'er, Dale Jones was an all around Good Guy. Andy Ray was given a chance to buy his Javelin, and did, so it will still be in the Club. And the show winners are....I don't know everyone's name, so I won't try any....I've probably already insulted a few of them in this post !
