AMCRC Gold Rush Santa Maria

July 30, 2016

The 20th Anniversary of Gold Rush Ramblers, in Santa Maria, Ca. Stan "The Marlin Man" got the ball rollin' on this show, and I'm glad he did ! It's like 20 degrees cooler here then at home, and I needed the cooling off time !!! "Thanks Stan"!!!

Unfortunately, shit happens on the road....and John was the unlucky one....it certainly could have been much worse....but that doesn't help while your looking at your baby on the side of the road....and he had just had this fender redone after someone put a big gouge into it at Spring Fling....

Friday was the Cruise, with some Wine tasting along the way.

After Lunch we went to the "Mendenhall's Museum", Lot's of gas pumps, thousands of signs, License plates, oil cans, etc., you name it, it's there ! Pretty COOL Place ! More pix on my "PIX" section http://westcoastamc.com/pictures.php

I'll start off with this Gremmie, as you can see, he started with the important stuff, Git'n it Run'n, New Shoes, and some pretty cool Gauges ! Center Lines look Great on this shorty, Beautiful Motor, and I Really like the Gauges !

O.K., We lucked out with this Award Wining car showing up here ! There was a big show somewhere around here this same day, but he came to the Rambler Show with the Black Cherry Marlin ! I saw it last year at the Solvang Show, but it was parked in the shade, and you couldn't really get a good look at the paint....WOW !

He sold this Marlin, it was going to be the one he customized, but it was too clean to do that to it....THANK YOU !

Like I said, it was Stan's idea to do this show, and with what? 15 plus Marlins? He brings an American ? There were 5 Marlins here, and only 6 AMX's ! When have you ever seen that ? 5 of the AMX's were from our club, SoCalAMX, and the 6th one heard about the show and came on down !

Some Very Nice Big cars here....Ambo's & a Reb....well, compared to my X !

A nice mixed lot of Wagons.

Stan's American, the red and white looks great. And you know if there's a convertible V8 Rogue around, you'll find a Fletcher !

Cars waiting to be pampered.

A Jeep and a Boat !.... I know it's a Boat, there's a naked Lady sunbathing on the hood !

A Very Cool early American that rolled in with the "AWESOME" Red White & Blue American !

Allen's Beautiful RW&B.

John, Robert, and the Chicks X's (did I mention I'm partial to AMX's?)

And the late arrival "427" powered 70....i'm...uh..not going to pull up next to him.... Wow. 3 of the 6 AMX's are 1970 !

O.K.. I kinda geek'd out a little when this Beauty showed up ! From someone at the show I heard this car was in storage for a long time, did not run etc., it was given to the guy who has it, the owner had very little time left, so he put a Rambler 327 in it, and got it running in time to give the guy a ride before he passed away. Very Cool. It is originally a Rare 343 4spd car, and he has a line on a motor and tranny to make it like it was ! and paint it ! HA HA, just kidding, NO paint, He's keeping it with all the Awesome battle scars ! And it's BEAutiful !

Not an imposing picture, but 27 cars for your first show, not too shabby ! I know there will be more cars here from our club next year, Stan has already committed himself to it !....hmm....maybe I should call Stan and find out if that's what he meant about committing himself..?..

I'll end this with 4 Beauties ! Black Cherry, Nude sunbather, AMC Flag, and Old Glory ! Stay Cool !
