Morro Bay Car Show

May 7, 2016

We had 3 cars going here, then a few weeks out we had 4 ! then the week of, we were down to two. We stopped in Santa Barbara for lunch, in a little harbor, then headed up and only hit about 10 minutes of rain on the way. They had talked rain all weekend, but....not so much !

This is the Sanpiper Inn, a decent place, and a great view of the Rock ! The Big Hudson was already here, also for the show. Thursday night was early check in, they had food, and a tour of some of the auto/custom shops in town.

Friday was the Cruise to Ragged Point, it was nice, no pounding sun on us. The view is awesome, we didn't get to park on the grass this year, we were at the back of the line. oh well

Shortly after we got back, they were lining up for the Car Parade, so what the hell, we jumped in ! I got a lap and a half, and Kermit died....Dave gave me a jump, and we headed to the Motel, walked to the wharf for dinner, and called it a night (after a few drinks).

My alternator was toast, and there were none to be found, so I figured we headed to a car show, let's do the damn car show, and figure it out after, so that's what we did !

We talked to a few people that were actually AMC'ers ! and a few of them will be in Santa Maria in July ! Also talked to a few that were fairly local about parts, but nothing that worked, special order at all the auto places....Dave drove me all over trying whatever we could. One guy even dug up an alternator, ti was AMC, but not the right one, we tried it anyhow, and it was also toast.

Back to the show ! Like all shows, there were a lot of real Custom rides here, way more then I can post, but this Radio Flyer was Awesome ! Fully driveable ! But I don't think it's freeway safe.

I love the 55's, and my first car was a 56, so Hell Yea I took pix !

And I find it funny that the mid fifty's Fords are so rare, It's nice to see them, specially when they look like these !

I buy tix to win these Cobras every year, and they insist on giving them to someone else....every year....

The Studebaker is AWESOME, I can't tell you how Impressed I am with this car !

I'll let the cars talk now.

Another nice shot at Ragged Point.

Sunday morning, and back to reality, well....nutt'n doin'. so it was tow time, between Hagerty & AAA, I got towed the 312 miles home. And when I figure it out, there will be an extra alternator in my trunk for future trips.
