Midnight at the Oasis

March 3, 2016

We had 3 AMC's here, Mark's 68 Playmate AMX, Dale's 70 Donohue Javelin, and my BBG. Usually there are a few more AMC family cars here, but not this year, no Nash, no Hudson, no Metro, no Rambler, and no other AMC....What's going on ?

Here's our group ! My buddy Doug's AAR Cuda, Dale built his Mom Winona's Mustang for her, Dale's Dad Ray had his Skyliner, and our AMC's. We didn't have great parking spots, we registered LATE, and only had the overflow lot to park in....won't happen again !

Had to start off with this Beautiful Stang, and this pix does it "NO" justice at all, this baby Glowed, I saw it 6 rows away, I'm not big on yellow, but it fit this car perfectly !

Tons of old Fords everywhere, but this 35 Chevy was built to be seen ! and it was, it won one of the few awards given at this show.

I also love the Henry's, also from the Orphan class, only 30,585 built, but they seem to be rarer then the AMX, 19,134.

TOO COOL ! that's all I can say.

Most early Ford's seem pretty much the same to me, there are ton's of them at every show, but this one was exceptionally Clean looking, the camera did a total disservice to this car.

Ya' gotta Love it ! I used to see these growing up in Mission Beach, in San Diego, even taking the boat ramps into the Bay, now they are worth a fortune. This one is even pulling a camper !

And another cute little ride pulling a trailer, Morris has been around awhile.

This is what I really wanted to ride to school in ! It even has igniters on the side pipes !

O.K., down to the nitty gritty, I think this thing could probably fly if you put wings on it.

Rat rods have become very popular, and I can see why, specially when it's also towing a Rat Bike.

You also don't have to worry too much about the paint, or shining it up every time you show it....just as long as the Schlitz beer can can hold the radiator overflow.

This is the sweetest little snow plow I have ever seen.

I'm kind of a Chevy guy, 55 is my fave, but my first car was a 56. So I'm showing you the 4 Super Nice Five Fives that were here.

My second car was a 55 Wagon, not a Nomad, but the rarer 2 door. I kinda miss that one.

I said I was partial to Chevy, and I am, but the tri-fives are everywhere, and you rarely see the mid fifty's Fords.

I've only seen two of these before, the Canadian Chevelle, the "Beaumont", what a Beauty !

Here we were parked for the parade drive on Friday eve. There were LOT's of Mustangs, Camaros, Mopars, 30's & 40's Fords, tri five Chevys....but I can only fit 20 pix on each show posting....so you get what you get ! Wanna' see more ? Come to the shows !

Last pix, awesome little scooter, (and it is badass), with a bonus right over the air cleaner !
