West Coast ALL AMC Show

Still the Best show around ! Vegas pulls more cars, and people, and ? o.k., Vegas pulls better, but it's because they are more centrally located then we are, it also doesn't hurt to have it right outside your Motel, in it's own lot, away from the regular peoples cars....let's face it most people don't give a damn about a door ding, but "WE DO".
so, this is our triangle, we try to do Phoenix (can't always), our show, and Vegas.
We do try to sneak in a long haul now and then. like Sacramento, Spark's, Sedona, Colorado, and this month Tahoe ! Because they were built to DRIVE !

Here's the street side of the AMX & Javelin row, they would have been separated in the past, and parked by class, but this year was the top ten, you voted on whatever ten cars you thought were best (or your best friends).

I counted 18 AMX's, but a few cars floated through through the day, so there may have been a few more, four Javelins, and four big body Javelins. five trophies went AMX, the Big Bad Blue Javelin, which is Beautiful ! won as well.

It's hard to get a full shot of this lot, there isn't any real high ground, but this angle gives you more of a feel of this row, and there were stll a few AMX's across from this row....it's pretty damn Cool !
Half the cars here justifiably should win a trophy, but there were only 11.

And from the other end. Lots & Lots of Beautiful cars !

Can't get a full shot of this side either, but here are 5 cars that didn't fit in our row. And the trailored Rambler, I was told, is an SC, being reborn.

SC's, Marlins, Ambo, Rebels, Gremlin, even a Pacer !

Classics, Americans, even Nash's !

and we did have a couple Javelin's....but only 18 AMX's....

I took at least forty flag pix, trying to get them both open, but not much wind.

I do have pix or every car here, my son will have to help me add them together (4 in 1 shots), and I'll have them in the "PIX" section of this site. I only seem to get 20 pix in each post, so I don't push it.

Just after 10am, Mark did the reveal of the Full Rotisserie Restored 1968 Playmate AMX ! If you had seen this car prior to the start, you would have said it was a lost cause, and it was, but Mark was in Love with this car, and the Playmate, from the day it was given to her....so the cost didn't matter. And now it looks as good as New !

I wish I had seen that trash can when I took this pix, but the pink paint, on the sunny day, was washed out on most of my pix

Allen checking out his handy work, what he did to this car is just short of a miracle....every nut & bolt pulled....every speck of paint taken off....quarters cut, welded, repaired....perfection !

I don't think there was one part that was just cleaned and put back on, not a nut or bolt. Everything was either striped, sanded, welded, repaired, or replaced. Not one body panel, trim piece, interior piece, engine part, suspension part, or anything attached to this car was bolt on & go, everything needed help, and Allen did it, and John helped him anytime he needed help, these guys blow me away !

Cindy & I almost didn't make it here, we had a car fly 3 lanes and take out the truck in front of us, at 70 mph, I had to hit the brakes hard, they locked up, as we started going sideways, it grabbed and we were headed into the center wall, I turned the wheel, we missed the wall by a few feet, and came to a stop facing the car behind me....We were in the center of our lane, in the wrong direction....how we didn't hit, or get hit by something is amazing....not a scratch....all five lanes had come to a stop....I may have peed a little, I'm not say'n !

This Nash is too cool, three & a half inch chop, that you can't see, running boards that they didn't come with, and a bunch of little things that you find as you go over this car, Great Job ! Had to point out a few cars !

Awesome little Gremlin X, 304 even ! this cute little Beauty went home with a trophy to !

This awesome 68 Reb also took a trophy ! Nacho put a lot'a'Love into this too !

This is also a rotisserie built car, it's BEAUTIFUL, the whole undercarriage is WHITE ! Can you guess who built it ? She belongs to Allen, he built his own rotisserie to build this car....then bolted it to the Pink car, and started all over again !

The bitchin' Blue car next to his is John's, these guys have done a lot of wrench'n together, and AMC just happened to build a car that made them the best of friends !......and they both happened to trophy as well.

The Marlin from Fallbrook ! I did not know the owner, her name is Pamela, unfortunately, she had to take some dead weight home with her, it took up a little trunk space, the Best of Show Trophy !

The Trophys ! 10 peoples choice, and the Best of Show for the car with the most votes !

Mark did not have the Playmate car in the voting.

Well, here we are, the Winners, there may have been some cars more deserving a trophy then some of ours....but we are not giving them back !

There were some Beautiful cars here, a lot more then there were trophys, you can see the pride these people have in their cars.

and "no", my shoe laces do not glow in the dark....

I just had to end this with a very pretty naked Lady !
