Morro Bay Car Show

We had 3 cars go to the Morro Bay Car Show, May 2....it was AWESOME !
Dave & Katie had a few places in mind to get Lunch on the way, so we stopped at the Cold Spring Tavern, an old stage coach stop, off the beaten path, Very cool old buildings tucked into a mountainside. Morro Bay was about a 6 hour drive for us.

Here's (from left) John & Shelly, my Cindy, Dave & Kati, I'm behind the Camera 20 feet away. We were checking out the grounds around the Tavern. The place was Awesome.

We headed there on Thursday so we could enjoy the functions on Friday, as well as the show on Saturday. The cruise on Friday was to Ragged Point, about 45 miles north, at least 100 cars took the cruise, and we parked on the grass when we got there (where else were they going to put us ?).
Everyone scattered, grabbed lunch, walked around, tipped a few, and took in the scenery.

I'm in this one !, camera on my car with a short timer. John & Shelly were checking out the whales we had seen.

Well, you can see how crappy the area is !
So, I said we had 3 cars....but Dave had a little problem with his AMX, while he was prepping it for the trip, he stepped away from it for a tool....and it popped into gear....and it backed itself into his Bronco....so he brought his Fairlane instead....and since ford makes the 390 anyway, whatayagonna'say' !

Showtime !
We found parking right away, the show was already in full swing when we pulled in.
Just a little note on the little Red Falcon on the left, when they pulled out from the Motel, same place we stayed, I heard it before I saw it, and it put a big smile on my face, the rumble was bigger then the car ! So I checked it out when we got there, it has a 427, and it was music to my ears !

The only other AMC Family was this little girl, and she was dressed for showing off !

The show covered at least 13 blocks, they have a cutoff at 500 cars, not sure if they filled it, but it was impressive ! Some real show cars here too ! It's right in the middle of town, lots of shops, lots of places to eat, and the weather on Saturday couldn't have been better !

Lots of people here, the show is every year, this is kind of a Coastal tourist town, but I'm sure this is the biggest thing that goes on here.
The mountain you see, is actually a Volcanic plug, there are like 7 of these along the coast, and it's part of the peninsula that creates the bay here.

Beautiful setup, and it belongs to a body & paint shop from Pomona.

Another Bitch'n setup ! Maybe the same owners ? I don't know, but it took me all day to get pix of these, they had people all over them, I finally got a few clear shots.

I guess this is one of the Vendors, but I didn't see anyone buying anything !

My God this is a Beautiful car, I spent at least 10 minutes checking it out, it's spotless !

Love this Vette too, beautiful flare job, and the Cobra type wheels really set it off.

I guess I'm drawn to Orphans, I certainly love the cars you don't see all the time, doesn't mean I like it over my AMC, but I do appreciate what they are.

This wheel base is shorter then ours !

Gotta love the scooters, like I said, not for me....but if I could afford three or four cars, it would be cool to have one.

Yea, I bought tickets, why not, a guy can dream !
