Midnight at the Oasis

Yuma Arizona, Can't really think of another reason to visit this town, except that our Nephew lives here, so free room to stay in helps ! But I wouldn't miss this show anyhow, it's Awesome ! Concert's Friday & Saturday evenings, a meal each day for 2, and up to 1000 cars, and some Real Show cars too !
This year we had 4 cars here, it was almost 6....maybe next year !
Mark, Dave & Katie got here on Thursday so they could get in on the Cruisin' Downtown action Thursday evening, they are also a few hours farther away then we are.
Dale & Denise, Cindy & I, and Dale's folks, Ray & Winona, went up Friday.
Friday is the parade, all the cars that want to go, are the parade, I'm guessing 5 or six miles, so here we are in one of the many staging lines waiting for the cruise through all the towns people, snowbirds, and whoever else wants to line the streets and wave us by. It's kinda Cool !
It does take awhile, waiting, and driving, and waving, and smiling, and passing all the cops making sure we don't do burnouts, as a lot of people want us to do....gotta be good....
The BBG Javelin belongs to Jon & Gina, they belong to the Lone Wolf Car club, but they hit a few shows with us AMC'ers too, like the Burger Run. They park on a different field at this show, we are two rows over, and a few cars back.
We were finally all together after the Parade, and it was time for Dinner !
And the Concert after, Elton John, and AC/DC Tribute bands, Both good !
Dale's Folks car, a Big Working Skyliner ! And it all works, he just wasn't sure of the drive, so they trailered it to Yuma.
Saturday was an early Day, but not as early as I usually go, I kinda took my time git'n up, why not, our spaces are set in advance !
We got our signs up, Mark put up his canopy for shade, we checked out cars, and had lunch.
Then checked out the rest of the cars after, then went to dinner in town after that.
That evenings concert was Neal Diamond, and Journey Tribute bands, also very good !
This was a smaller Pantera group then normal, they park next to the Lone Wolf Club, they both have some good people in their clubs, and it's always nice to see them, and those Beautiful cars !
I kinda like 2 seaters.
This was the giveaway car this year, $20 a ticket, and AGAIN, I didn't win....they keep saying to keep trying....I was thinking I could win it, sell it, and have the money to finish my AMX, but this 48 ford with the 327, went to someone else, I'll just have to win next years car instead.
A bird dropped something on my car, I had to clean it up, but I'm not sure if it was this one, or not, what I cleaned up wasn't purple.
I took about ten pix of the girls as they were talking at Lunch, and they kept making faces and turning away, so I finally got them to sit still for one pix, so I would stop (but I didn't !).
Now that I see this pix, I wonder if that bird left something on my head, what are they looking at ?
There were no other AMC family cars here this year, that I saw, but there were some other Nice rare cars here.
And this little Beauty had a small block with dual quads, I'm pretty sure it scoots just fine.
Would you like to go camping & boating ?
There were quite a few green cars here, not that I really noticed, but I like to think green.
Dale and his folks were in and out all weekend, but we still got a lot of people checking out our AMX's through the weekend.
I guess there are a lot of people that know what a Javelin is, well, not really, 4 out of 5 think an AMX is a Javelin....but they were close !
Maybe this is the bird I'm looking for....
See you next year ?
