September 21, 2014

I went both days here, this is where I parked in the “green” section on Saturday, right between an “AAR” and a big Beautiful Caddy. After I cleaned her up a bit, I was off ! Had a lot of cars to see !

I thought I was the only AMC, and I was ready to get her out on the track for the trophy lap....but this white AMX took the trophy, and the lap....it bothered me a little, they don't even judge cars without their hood open, when I did finally see this car, the hood was closed, and I was told it never was open. Didn't really care about the trophy, but I did about the lap, I wanted to open her up a little with the work done to the engine....

Had to add this little Falcon, Beautifully done, the owner races it, and did I mention how Beautiful it is ?

New Day ! Sunday is when I like to get the group here, they usually have two trophys per class, and AMC is a class ! We only had 4 cars today, but it's usually hard to get people here this time of year anyway....I don't know why....all the racing & RARE cars here are Amazing !

Dale's Donohue, Richards 69 AMX, Frank's 64 Classic Conv., and my BBG.
Two things went wrong this day, first, they only had a first place trophy, no second....then they said Red Bull had something going on on the track at noon, so there was no trophy lap.....so I got first place today....and still didn't get to open her up....If I had known, I would have pulled my placard and let someone else take it. I just wanted a lap.

When we were pulling in, this guy came up and said he had his Scrambler here, so I said he should park with us, after we parked, I looked for a SC/rambler, but when I saw him, he said it's right there....a Jeep Scrambler ! I was confused ! He and his Buddy both brought their Jeeps, I gave them cards and said they were always invited to AMC Shows, Good guys, and Jeep is AMC Family !

The car show here pulls some Awesome cars in the show, as well as the Race cars, Always a few GT's, Cobra has a big group here, AC as well as Mustang.

This is only one of the groups of AC, but my site cuts me off at 20 pix per listing....better off that way, I would just get carried away. But I Love Cobras.

This was the smallest group of Panteras I've seen here, there are usually more then a dozen. Then again, they had their National here in May, so that probably had something to do with it.

OFF to the Races ! Actually the warm up races before noon, there are 9 different groups, here are the Trans-Am's at it, unfortunately the 1970 Javelin was being worked on at this time, so I didn't get to see it on the track, but the 1971 was, and even though this was practice, these three cars were hot at it the whole way !

They switched places throughout the course, but the #2 usually ended up first by the bleachers !

The great thing about this place is the Pitts, they are Open ! So I end up spending more time back here then watching the races. It's usually 3+ hours before I ever sit down, and I don't notice it till I do.

My first stop along the way, gotta love them AMC's !

Easier to just take the pix of the board.

Of course I like 70 better, but I won't tell the other guy. This thing is Beautiful !

Even the tail light lenses and housings are better then mine....I'd sure like to do a lap in her !

One of my soft spots....

I should hate this car, since they called it the Cobra Killer, but it is Wicked Beautiful ! I would build a car like this in a heartbeat, if I had the money....

All the classes in this show are so cool, so unique, and so REAL, SCCA only allows the real deal, these cars are a part of history, and it's awesome to see them at work.

Lots of cars I know nothing about, nor that I have ever seen, but I'll try to get to know some of them in the years to follow ! Right now I gotta go watch a race !
