Picnik by the Bay

Not many takers this year, John & Shelly, and Cindy and I were the only AMC'ers to make it. Just look at it, it's soooo ugly here ! Coronado Bridge in the background, skiers, boaters, wave runners messing up the water....it was awful....

Love this location for a show ! Even on a hot day, you get a breeze off the water, and the breeze was great this day ! Downtown San Diego on the other side of the dock area, San Diego Bay on the other side, and we get to park on the grass.

We usually park towards the entry point, by the trees, and shade, but the car show is on the other side of a small building, so I thought we could park on the point for a change. Unfortunately there was no shade here.

It's hard to get everyone to show up at the same time because of varying distances, so we need to stay at the entry point, this show parks you as you show up, although this year they didn't have the showing they expected, because they changed the dates.

We all went to brunch at the Hyatt, and we put some food away ! I think I went back three times and got my money's worth....as a matter of fact I REALLY got my moneys worth, John grabbed the check !

Awesome when you see these BIG ships come through, plus the Carriers in the background, also out that way is where the Speed fest is every year, on North Island (Coronado to us civys)

Just another cheap shot of the harbor area. The windows you see between the buildings is the Convention Center Downtown, I was lucky enough to get asked to put my car in the International Auto Show in 2012, That was Cool ! There's a few pix in the Past Events for 2012. and in case you haven't noticed, click on the pix to enlarge them !

I ran across this pix from this show in 2010, this is where we have parked in the past, but as you can see, we are not near the rest of the show....but it "is" a beautiful spot !
