Cool Car Expo

May 26, 2014

Memorial Day at Qualcom Stadium, this is an open show, peoples choice format, so the big clubs, or the people with the most friends win a trophy....we didn't go for a trophy, as a matter of fact, we didn't even get there until 9:30 ! We went because they have a swap meet also, and the die-cast guy was bringing me the newist AMX, the Kim Nagel SS, he only had 2, so John and I grabbed them fast !

So I was going alone, then I got John interested 2 days earlier, he was helping Allen work on the Playmate AMX on Sunday (coming along nicely by the way) and asked him if he wanted to go....then Dale called me about the plan to go, he helped Dom get working brakes on his 73 401 Jav/AMX and said they were thinking of going too....so all of a sudden there were 5 cars going....COOL !

So, like I said, we were late, so going through the gate I told them we were just going to hit the swap meet for awhile, we were out of trophy contention by then anyhow, so they didn't charge us a dime, and a few of the guys snuck in the back gate anyhow....whatever....I was miffed because I took lead and almost went that way myself, so they were parked with hoods up before we got there....

Then Richard showed up right after I took a bunch of pix, so now we had 6 cars ! I took a few more pix, those are the last 4 pix on this post.

These first 7 pix came at the end of our stay, by noon it was over and I figure I would make these guys stay a few more minutes, move their cars to face away from the stadium, and get a little closer together.

Good photo ops are hard to come by, hell, just getting people together is hard to do ! And then parking them too ! Oh my god !

The first pix, from left to right, Richard 1968 AMX, Allen 1968 AMX, John 1969 AMX, Dale 1970 Donohue Javelin, Randy, me, 1970 AMX, and Dom 1973 Jav/AMX. We thought it would make a nice picture, hope you like it !

Had to get some pix of the common cars at the show....4 or 5 years, I'll get a good used one !

Always have loved these, and I have a ton of Cobra die cast, but I'll never own one, unless I hit the lottery.

I think everyone has owned a camaro at some point, I did, and I have a 2010 now, but I loved the checker flag on this car !

Who doesn't love a Road Runner !

Anglias are always cool, maybe not these particular colors, but the motor in this thing makes up for that !

Don't know why I took this pix....just something about the color....I'll figure it out eventually....Richard say's I have to pay my AARP membership....

One of the Coolest Fords ever made ! Can you tell I used to be a vanner?

Cool little late 50's Rambler, I don't think it runs on Rambler, but it's cool none the less. And he's going to try to make our show next Saturday !

Here we are when we got here, I was only able to get a few shots in, a lot of people came a callin'....hey, is dat won'a dem new maustangs ?

And the other side.

And the back side.

and....The End !
