SEDONA NATIONAL
July 6, 2011
Sedona.....Wow !....What can I say ? It was Beautiful ! The trip there was nice too.
We were meeting up with Mark, Robert, Steve, and Dave & Kati in Barstow at 6am on Wednesday. Kati mentioned staying in barstow Tuesday night & that sounded good to me! It would take 2 ½ hours off our trip & we wouldn't have to leave our house at 3:30am, so that's what we did.
The cruiz' there was nice, on the 40, some cloud cover most of the way, so it wasn't too hot. I had some fuel pump problems, but took care of it in Sedona, Well Allen did.
We ran into people all over Sedona, & we pretty much all scattered while there too. We arrived Wednesday, John C., John & Shelly, Allen & Sandy on Thursday, Stacy & Andrea on Friday. Dale & Karen were already there, & I think Tom got there on Friday as well. About the only time we were all together was the day of the show, on the green, under a tree, kick'n it !
Yea, We got some wood too ! Mark, John C., John S., Steve, Stacy, Allen, Dale, & ME, Randy All got WOOD, or Plastic, depending on the trophy....Oh, & Steve got a second trophy for for survivor & it was a Piston ! So 9 trophies to our group, not too shabby !
Allen, John S. & Stacy disappeared before we got our group pix with our trophies. So here's the rest of us with wood.
The trip home was hell, I think we were the only ones on the road without AC. We were the only car on the 10 with our windows down, spraying ourselves down every 2 minutes to cool down. So Tranny first, then AC !
This thing has a 1966 plate on it, all Fiberglass, running 290, totally functional car ! It was supposed to be destroyed, but it was given to an employee & he lost his job over not returning it, sure can't blame him for that ! What a car ! What a piece of History !
I'll get pix of this Beauty up on the info site.
It's Awesome to see something like this in person !
There were some awesome cars here, only 67 cars, but some real show cars, even a beautifully restored Machine ! Made me drool....There were 6 SCRamblers, 7 if you count the Wagon with the SC paint scheme....No, make that 8, there was a Pacer with the B scheme also ! Looks just like one too !
28 AMX's, would you believe 14 were 1970 ! Even a pre-AMX.
Steve's car is in here, but they all look the same to me, you pik !
I told Steve about this B Code SCRambler ! But he said it wasn't a SCRambler.....I can't tell the diff....
Now I'm just going to show a few more pix !
Sorry if you couldn't make this show, It was worth the drive.
Maybe by the time I pay off this trip, there will be another one.
These things were EVERYWHERE !
