Spring Fling

This was the same weekend as Phoenix, and the opening of Cruisin' Grand. I and others were a little taped out for the Phoenix trip, but we will be there Next Year ! We ended up with 5 cars here, and the weather was great, till the winds kicked in and the dust flew everywhere. Still a nice Day

Steve and his SCRambler, Robert 70 AMX, John 69 AMX, Randy Machine, and Hobie 69 AMX. We had to wipe our cars down more then a few times here, less grass then years past. We missed this show last year because it fell on Mothers Day....who does that ?

God this is COOL ! Ken Kinnucan bought this nostalgic drag car because he thought it was cool, Well, He's Right ! And the best part is, He races it ! Out west here in the winter month's, and back east in the summer month's. That's Awesome !

This is my 4th time here, the 3rd time I've seen this car here, a 1963 Chrysler Turbine owned by Jay Leno. I was standing by the drivers door looking in the window when Jay walked up and said excuse me, I stood up, said hows it going Jay ! He was hounded by a group following him, so I asked him if there were only 5 of these cars, he said there were 9. Chrysler built 55, and crushed all but 9, then the crowd was huge and he was on his way. The car sounds like a vacuum cleaner !

I love these big beauties, and this powder blue Daytona was Clean.

I expected more, but I can't complain about 2 Superbirds & 2 Daytonas ! This Yellow Superbird's owner is Jay, who owns the Beautiful BBO 69 AMX in our group....sorry Jay, I guess I'm partial to the Green one, I don't know why !

I'm sure Jay got a trophy, I just don't know what place he got, AMC is the first category and we split right after they call ours, long drive. I've been here 4 times and finally lucked out with a trophy ! So did John with his AMX, and Steve with his SCRambler !

I had a 70 Challenger way back when, just a little 318, but she was still fun, these seem to be the biggest group, them & Cudas. And yea, I still like Green.

AND the Newer Challengers really pack them in too ! Gotta love'm
