Southern Nevada AMC Club's 8th Annual AMC Reunion

November 9, 2013

Southern Nevada AMC Club's 8th Annual AMC Reunion ! Nov. 8-10 I Love this Show ! It was my 5th time here and I already look forward to the next one. They had 65 cars this year, grows a little each year.

I met up with John & Allen and we met Mark farther along on the trip on Thursday. Dave & Kati, Steve Dawson, Steve Fox, Dale & Carol, Robert, Hobie, Richard, and Mark Fletcher got there on Friday, so we had 11 SoCal cars there ! I'm counting Fletcher because he moved to SoCal, he joined California but I think he's still a Cactus Cruiser....so I guess we will have to follow him to that show as well !

Friday was the BBQ, but there was a trip to the Sunbelt Auto Collection in Vegas, I took a lot of pix that didn't come out because my camera was messed up, but these four Beautiful AMC Family cars were good, there was an older Hudson Hornet that didn't make it on film....

Cindy & I wanted to see the TV trio from Counts Cars, Pawn Stars, & Rick's restorations, but the Pawn shop had a long line, we weren't sure about the directions to Rick's, and the Count's street has a turn that we thought was another road and had to ask where it was, BUT WE WERE GOING ! So, with Steve Dawson following us pulling his car on a trailer, we FOUND it ! I know, no stars, but we watch the damn show and we saw the place....good enough !

Bright & Early Saturday morning cars were showing up, getting wiped down and shinny on a Beautiful sunny day. After I cleaned my car we went into town for some chow at “The Cup”, great food, and bloody Mary's of course, then headed back for Thee Show !

So Many nice cars here, in all stages of life, we can't all be wealthy enough to have show cars like the regular giant car shows have, I know I can't, and I'm damn lucky to have what I do, and they need work too. But I think we love our cars more then they do too, they can buy parts ANYWHERE and cheaply, they repop just about anything Ford, Chevy, & Mopar....so whats the challenge ?

Just look at this Beautiful Javelin from New Mexico, You know the owner loves it ! And you should have seen the black one too....I know, they have AMX insignias on them, but I'm a two seat AMX guy and I have trouble with that....sorry !

Dale being a Military guy takes “spit shine” to heart....and it must work, he came home with a trophy !

There was a big motor home with trailer blocking half the show from the hill behind us, that and my bad camera wasted a lot of shots, our 2 Machines and 5 SC/Ramblers were backed right up to it.

So we had to get pix of these cars elsewhere, the ramp to the upper lot worked just fine ! Even though we lost the sun before we got situated.

Then we added Allens RW&B & Jims Rogue Machine to it, along with us proud owners ! o.k. Yea...the pretty ones were up front....

One more quick shot from the hillside behind the damn motor home, had to, how often do you see these things ! Especially in one place !

4 trophys to our group, Allen with his Beautiful RW&B AMX, John's Beautiful Blue AMX, Dale's “Spit Shined” Javelin, and my Machine. Should have been at least 1 more, we'll get'm next year, unfortunately they only had 2 trophys for Performance, most categories have 3. -------------------------------------------- I came home with a second place trophy, forth might have been a little more realistic, there were more deserving cars there and I probably should have declined it, but that's easy to say now, I was caught up in the moment and then it was over.

The Whole group of Winners !
