Mercury & Oddball car show

October 19, 2013

We had 6 cars here ! I brought my Machine, John S. came up with me in his Bright Blue 69 AMX, Jerry LeMon was already there in his Original Owner freshly repainted Red 68 AMX, then Robert showed up with his Met Blue 70 AMX, along with John & Felice in their Supercharged Black 68 AMX, and finally Mark showed up with his Red 68 AMX. Mark & Robert both have 401's, so my Machine is probably the slowest in the group, it “is” kind of a boat....but in time that will change !

This is a nice little park in Anaheim, we end up in the same place in the shade, great spot, there are a few ponds next to us and ducks cruisin' around. They had a roach coach on site for food and drinks (I know they don't call them that anymore).

This is a peoples choice format and they have 2 trophys for AMC, Jerry Lemon got first place for his restored 343 1968 AMX, he ordered this car in March of 1968 ! He picked it up on May 17th 1968 at Holiday Rambler in L.A., Ca. Very Cool !

Second place went to John & Felice Hayes with their 1968 Supercharged AMX

John built this 468 c.i., ¼ et 10.7 @ 130mph !

And here they are, Jerry on the left, and John on the right, couldn't have gone to nicer guys !

This isn't really an orphan show, it's put on by the SoCal Cougar Club & Mercurys. They bill it featuring Cougars, Mercurys, Oddballs and a Little Bit more !

Classes include a lot of the Fords, including EDSEL and Bronco, Camaro, Modified & Restomods, AND AMC !

I had to take pix of this car, from a distance I thought it was a Talledega, but it's just as rare, a Mercury Cyclone Dan Gurney Special....This thing is Beautiful ! I love rare American cars
